1. Fonts
I’ve been selling fonts since 2018, and let me tell you… I had no idea how much people LOVED fonts!! I’m still so surprised my fonts are still selling well to this day. If you want to learn how to make quality fonts to sell, I recommend taking the Learn Font Making course by Every-Tuesday. It’s the best course I’ve ever taken!
Once you start making fonts, make sure to apply for a store on Creative Fabrica or Creative Market!
2. SVGs
Fonts take a TON of time to make so I wanted to start making something that I could turn around quicker. In today’s world SVGs are most commonly used around the craft community. They are cut files that people use with Cricut or Silhouette. Trust me when I say, there is a huge demand for SVG cut files even if it feels super competitive.
3. Sublimation Designs
Similar to SVG files, but definitely rising in popularity over the last year. Design Bundles has a wonderful video on what sublimation is if you’re not familiar with the process.
4. Digital Planner Stickers
Digital stickers have been popular for quite some time, and I still think they are great to make and sell! Anything from functional planner stickers to decorative stickers.
5. Stickers (for decals)
Recently, vinyl stickers have taken over everything. It’s even crossed over into the digital world. PNG sticker files are gaining in popularity, and allowing small businesses everywhere to make beautiful stickers. As someone who makes vinyl stickers in my product shop, I was hesitant to start making digital stickers for people to essentially be my competitors. However, what I’ve found is that I’m able to create designs that I wouldn’t necessarily put in my shop. I’m also able to make it once and keep making money without any extra work involved, or holding inventory.
6. Procreate Brushes
I made my first set of Procreate texture brushes and wow! I loved the process and loved creating something brand new. If you have experience with the app I definitely recommend experimenting and making your own brushes from scratch.
7. Watercolor Illustrations
If you’re a watercolor artist, I recommend taking your illustrations and giving them a second life by turning them into digital clipart, elements, and more.
8. Craft Product Mockups
Small business everywhere need beautiful photos. That’s where craft mockups come into play. You take a photo of a mug, wine glass, t-shirts – and then someone uses that photo to display their handmade items. A lot of SVG sellers will also use mockups to show off their designs to give customers an idea of what the design could go on.
9. Instagram Story Highlights
People want a good looking feed and Story Highlights are a quick way to achieve a certain look. Because there are so many different types of businesses out there, the possibilities are endless when it comes to what types of designs to make.
10. Social Media Post Templates
If you’re a graphic designer, some things may come easy to you that non-designers struggle with. Making legible and pretty social media templates is so helpful for those who can’t do it themselves.
11. Lightroom Presets
I’ve started using Lightroom presets for my own business, and I don’t know how I was getting by prior. It saves so much time!
12. Coloring Pages
If you like drawing or hand lettering then coloring pages are another great option! There are tons of coloring page keywords with high search volumes, so there’s definitely a need for them!
13. Resume Templates
From business, to designers and artists, to construction… everyone needs a logo at some point!
14. Wedding Suites
A cost effective yet beautiful way to have unique wedding invitations! Even though I’m a designer, I wish I would have gone this route so I could have saved myself some stress!
15. Patterns
Patterns can be used for sublimation, scrapbooking, or even to outsource to a 3rd party to make custom products like wallpaper, wrapping paper, and more! Make sure to read the licenses of where you are selling to see if you’re okay with their usages.
16. Printable Trackers
Think… habit trackers, savings trackers, loan trackers for a house or car, bullet journal trackers, and even business trackers. The list goes on and on! People love to plan but don’t always like designing the template so this is an easy way for them to stay organized!
17. Vector Illustrations
These can come in the form of icons, logos, illustrations, and more! Vectors are usually for the more professional crowd, but since SVGs are technically vectors they can sometimes crossover.
18. Watercolor Backgrounds and Textures
I like using textures for the back of social media posts, or to use with text and clipping masks.
19. Printable Art Decor
Printable wall art is great for nurseries, dorm rooms, and more. I love this illustration below!
