Amazon Basics Dual Brush Marker: Review
Today I’m doing a review on the Amazon Basics Dual Brushes. These are supposed to be a Tombow Dual Brush dupe, at about half the price, but do they live up to the hype?

First Impressions
I like that the packaging was very minimalist and didn’t waste any plastic. The one thing that really bothered me when I first opened the box is that one of the Amazon Basics logo is printed the opposite way compared to the rest of them (on the pink marker). I mean, I get it. The Amazon Basics line isn’t meant to be high quality, they’re meant to be more affordable.
After opening the box I immediately grabbed my Tombow markers to compare. I knew they were similar, but I didn’t realize HOW similar they were until putting them side by side. The size of the barrel, caps, and everything are practically identical.
Below is a comparison of the tips of the two markers. They’re the exact same size!
Are they good for beginners?
Short answer: no. I don’t think the Amazon Basics Dual Brush Markers are great for beginners because of how flexible they are. The increased flexibility requires more control, and when you are first learning hand lettering you want to be able to just focus on the thick and thin strokes.
Look at how bendy the tips are in the photo below! Apart from using a paintbrush or water brush, I don’t think I’ve ever used a marker this bendy. It definitely took me by surprise. You would definitely get used to it after practicing and using it for a while though.
Are the Amazon Basics Dual Brush Markers worth it?
Pricing wise, the markers are a good deal. However, I don’t think I’m going to get much use out of them. I’d say no, I don’t think the Amazon Basics Dual Brush Markers are worth it. If I were wanting to use a larger brush marker, I’d grab the Tombow brushes instead of these.
Some of the colors are really nice (purple, green, rose) but some of them are REALLY light (yellow, peach, pink). I could barely see the yellow and peach markers when I was writing them, that’s how light they are.
I hope you enjoyed this review on the Amazon Basics Dual Brush Markers. If you were considering buying them, what are your thoughts now?
