Selling on Design Bundles: Designer Review
Are you curious about selling on Design Bundles? Or have you ever wanted to sell your digital lettering, clipart, SVGs, sublimation, patterns, or even Procreate brushes? If so, you may be wondering… where should you sell your digital products?

In a previous post I listed a bunch of digital marketplaces you could sell on. I gave a brief overview on the pros and cons of some of them. In this post, I want to do a deep dive on selling on Design Bundles. 🙂
*Disclaimer: Affiliate links are used in this post. If you choose to sign up or make a purchase I will receive a small commission. All of my thoughts and opinions on Design Bundles are 100% my own.
Design Bundles closed my shop because I liked a LinkedIn post about what happens when you try to shut down your DB store. Yeah, they closed my shop I’d been building for 6 years over a like. Because of that I can no longer give my support to them, but I will still leave this post up.
Easy & Free to Upload
Many other platforms have really crappy systems for uploading. Out of every site I’ve been a part of, Design Bundles is by far the easiest to use. There’s easy to understand places for your listing photos, file uploads, Pinterest images, and even a spot for meta info! If you’re familiar with selling on Creative Market, I feel it’s on that level for ease of uploading (if not easier).
Bonus: you can schedule listings!! No other platform I’ve been on allows you to schedule listings (apart from my own Shopify website). This is a HUGE bonus for someone like me who goes through phases of designing a ton then not designing for a while. In case you’ve never been on Design Bundles, there’s a section for New Products. By scheduling designs out, I’m able to get in front of more customers more often.
March ’23 Update: they’ve increased the minimum price for designs from $4 to $5, effectively pricing out single designs from the market. We’ll see what happens, but I don’t see this going well.
A Caring Community
I’ve never met a better group of designers than the Design Bundles community. They’re the most encouraging and supportive group I’ve been in on Facebook. If you’ve ever been in a crafting Facebook group you know how dramatic those can get – this is not like that at all!
On top of the designers that are amazing, the staff is incredible as well. Their customer support is hard to beat, honestly! The founder is often in the Facebook group sharing tips on how to better market your products, SEO, product gaps, and more!
Dec ’22 Update: the group is still active but is now open to non-DB designers which means there’s less support for current designers. The founder isn’t sharing tips as often as he used to.
March ’23 Update: the group is filled with AI tips and that’s about it. There is no community or engagement anymore. If you want a group that is positive and uplifting then join this group instead!
Curated Bundles
If you have a popular product there’s a good chance you could be offered an invite to a curated bundle! I always recommend saying yes to these invites as the payouts can range from $200-2,000 from what I’ve seen!
You do end up selling your products for $0.10-0.21 per sale, but that’s actually better than some other sites. AND Design/Font Bundles have proven their bundles are successful over the years, so you won’t wind up making $5 from a bundle (yes, that’s happened to me on SoFontsy).
Now don’t worry if you don’t have a popular product yet. In recent months I have seen a much wider variety of designers in the bundles and some of those look to be new designers!
Dec ’22 Update: Bundles are no longer huge money makers. Design Bundles has started doing two monthly $1 Events which I think has caused customers to wait for those instead of buying the bundles. The products included are often from the same 5 designers, or not that great of products. The last bundle I was in I made $90 which is wayyy less than what I used to get.
Fees & Payouts
For every sale made you will receive 75% commission. This is pretty standard with other sites as well. Now if the person making a purchase has clicked on an affiliate link then you will receive 50% commission. This is why I advise if you’re a designer on the site you sign up for the affiliate program so you can be sending out your links and receiving that extra 15%.
Payouts can be made at any time, and will be deposited in 7 days. Compare that to Creative Market’s 1x a month payout system, and this is an incredible pro! You don’t have to have a limit of $50 to make a payout either.
Affiliate Program
If you are an approved affiliate you will receive 15% of any purchase made by someone who has clicked on your link. There is a 30 day cookie on that link, so if they click on yours then any purchases they make in the next 30 days also count! If the user were to click on someone else’s affiliate link they would become that other users affiliate.
Trademarks
Design Bundles does actively takedown trademarked phrases in the 025 Class (clothing), which is great! I know this confuses a lot of new designers who may be coming from Etsy, who allows trademarked and copyrighted products. This can be discouraging at first, but once you realize they are just trying to keep your shop safe then I think you’ll see it as a Pro!
Dec ’22 Update: Design Bundles is no longer taking trademarked items down. It’s up to the trademark holder to file a report.
